Hi my name is Gemma Beck, i'm a 15 year old student/aspiring digital fantasy artist. I've always been into fantasy, particularly fantasy books but have only recently discovered the huge world of
fantasy art, especially fantasy realism, which I think is particularly amazing.
I'm currently working on my drawing and digital painting skills using a Wacom Intuos 4 and aim to learn how to draw and paint convincing fantasy creatures.
I also paint Warhammer figures and have a Beastmen army which i'm prepearing for battle. I aim to create a gallery of my Warhammer figures in the near future.
Inspiration
I discovered a great fantasy art website called Elfwood whilst searching for dragon images. A huge site where people who love fantasy and sci-fi can share their images and stories. It has been a tremendous source of inspiration to me, it also includes a tutorial section which was a great help in getting me started.
I also purchased a book from a published artist called Jessica Peffer which taught me some great techniques for drawing dragons and other fantasy creatures.
What really helped me to develop my digital painting skills was the magazine called ImagineFX which is a source of brilliant tutorials and inspiration.
